I guess most of us have tried sharing internet connection of our laptop over wireless network one time or the other. For Microsoft Windows a number of easy options such as Connectify are available. Problem arises for the open source lovers.
In the latest release of opensuse particularly the gnome flavor creating wifi hot spot is relatively easy.
Follow these simple steps to create a wifi hotspot and start using the internet connection of your laptop on other wireless enabled devices.
How to create a wifi hotspot
Click on the Wi-Fi and then on the WI-FI settings
Next, click on the option Use as Hotspot
Then click on the Turn On and enter your password (for the system), your hotspot is ready to use.
By default the hotspot related settings will be created for you, if you wish, you can modify these settings such as change the Network Name, Security type and most important, change the security key in the network settings menu or using Yast
